1. Gender Equity: Past, Present and Future with Elizabeth Millar

 

Elizabeth Millar is best known for her 20-year effort in negotiating the

Public Service of Canada’s \$3.5 billion pay equity settlement. Prior to the

advent of pay equity, Elizabeth addressed discrimination in job-evaluation

issues and the under-valuation of women’s work.

2. Leadership Skills Seminar with Rebecca Lever

 

Rebecca Lever, Psychologist, will give a seminar on leadership skills this

February. This event is open for all. More details will be provided soon.

The Ottawa Chapter of WISE is looking into new ways of creating a mentorship

6.    IEEE Carleton SPAV 2002 - Beyond the Confines of Engineering

(SPAV = Student Professional Awareness Venture)

 

The IEEE student branch at Carleton University has organized a professional

and career development conference consisting of 5 world class speakers, 5

workshops and 1 panel discussion.   All events of this conference are highly

energetic and interactive in a learning environment where participants will

walk away with networking, entrepreneurship, teamwork and management, and

career building skills, to only name a few.

 

When:   February 2nd and 3rd, 2002

Where:  Ramada Inn

Cost:     \$35 - IEEE member $50 - non-IEEE member (includes a free 1/2 year 

    membership) * cost includes lunch on Saturday, brunch on Sunday, snacks,

and content equivalent to a \$150 professional conference of such calibre
