The Women's Business Council of Nortel participated in the United Nations-sponsored
International Women's Day on March 8. There was a webcast with Dr. Kristina Johnson,
a member of Nortel's Board of Directors and Dean of the Pratt School of Engineering at Duke University.
Dr. Johnson's topic was "Women’s contribution to technology."
Following the global webcast, there was a local celebration in Ottawa Nortel campus
that included an interactive town hall featuring three distinguished keynote speakers,
two demos, and several information booths one of which was Women in Science and Engineering (WISE-Ottawa) Booth.
